IMAGE 02 - IMAGE 03 - IMAGE 04 - IMAGE 05 - IMAGE 06 IMAGE 07 - IMAGE 08 - IMAGE 09 - IMAGE 10 - IMAGE 11 Over 400 members of the BMWE from 25 Local Lodges and 10 System Divisions or Federations attended the ninth annual picnic of the Kansas City Coalition on August 14 at Finnigan's Hall in North Kansas City, Missouri. From Grand Lodge were Secretary-Treasurer William E. LaRue and Vice President Larry Borden. Also attending were members of the Transportation Communications Union, Teamsters Local 41, Boilermakers Local 83 and representatives from the Railroad Retirement Board and United HealthCare. Helping to sponsor the event were the designated law firms of Blunt & Associates, Jones & Granger, Pratt & Tobin, and Hubbell, Sawyer, Peak, O'Neal & Napier. From 11 to 4, attendees enjoyed a picnic lunch and a number of activities: bowling, miniature golf, ko-garts, billiards, darts, arcade games and other games for children as well as bingo for the adults. The winners of the annual horsehoe contest were: First Place - D. R. Collins, AT&SF Lodge 2403 and Jasper Stroud, Missouri Pacific Lodge 1365; Second Place - Bob England and Richard Kirby, both from Missouri Pacific Lodge 1365. A $1,400 Hewlett-Packard computer package was raffled and won by Steve Brewer, brother of Dan Brewer from Frisco Lodge 518. |
