Eligible students must be: high school seniors in the U.S. or Canada who are the sons, daughters or financial dependents of Teamster members (including members of the BLET, BMWED and TCRC).

Must be a financial dependent of an International Brotherhood of Teamsters member considered to be in “good standing” as defined in Article X, Section 5 of the International Constitution (including members of the BLET, BMWED, and TCRC). Application Deadline: May 1, 2025. Continue to the link for additional application and eligibility information. In 2024, the Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employes proudly produced 20 winners, each awarded $2,000 to help advance their education.

Since 1991, the Union Plus Scholarship Program has awarded more than $5.6 million to students of union families. Over 4,000 union families have benefited from our commitment to higher education. BMWED members and family are eligible for the Union Plus Scholarship. Amounts range from $500 to $4,000. These one-time cash awards are for study beginning in the Fall of 2025. Students may re-apply each year. In 2024 BMWED had 4 winners totaling over $2,500 in scholarship funds.

Since its inception in 2022, the Teamsters Scholarship Fund has raised nearly $8 million in support of children of Teamster members. In 2024, the Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employes proudly produced 20 winners, each awarded $2,000 to help advance their education. This initiative continues to empower and invest in the future of Teamster Rail families.

The Fund awarded $1.2 million in scholarships ranging from $10,0000 and $1,000 Academic awards for students planning to attend a four-year college/university and $2,000 to $500 Training/Vocational scholarships for students attending vocational training courses.
