On Friday, July 10, 2026, BMWED members on the Chicago-based commuter railroad METRA overwhelmingly voted to ratify a new seven-year collective bargaining agreement.

The agreement delivers significant gains for more than 300 BMWED-represented METRA members, including substantial wage increases and other improvements achieved through collective bargaining. More than 75% of voting members approved the new contract, with 112 members voting in favor and 25 voting against.
