BMWED and Delaware & Hudson Railway Company Reach New Contract Published: Oct 23 2023 4:22PM
UntitledBMWED members on the Delaware & Hudson Railway Company recently ratified a new collective bargaining agreement that provides annual wage increases through 2024 (retroactive to 2022), yearly $1,000 bonuses, no reductions to health and welfare benefits or changes to cost sharing and an additional paid day off per year.
The deal closely mimics the findings of Presidential Emergency Board 250 and its recommendations. Though the D&H was not party to the PEB as it did not bargain with the National Carriers Conference Committee, those recommendations did provide the framework in which to get an equitable contract agreement.
“Members on the Delaware & Hudson will see substantial raises and other away-from-home improvements as a result of this contract,” American Rail System Federation General Chairman Johnny Long, who represents the MOW members on the D&H. “Throughout the process we received great help and participation from the members on the property to negotiate and finalize this deal. I’m proud of the work that was put in to achieve these gains and thank everyone for their diligence and effort,” General Chairman Long added.
