The BMWED has received a vote in favor of Executive Board Ballots, approving $500 and $2,000 Disaster Relief Benefits to BMWED members who suffered certain loses and are victims of Hurricane Helene & Milton. These benefits are available to members living in areas where an emergency disaster has been declared by the United States due to the Hurricane's effects, with no duplication of benefits being paid to an individual member.

The BMWED will provide $2,000 to those members who lose immediate housing at their primary residence (are not able to stay overnight in their homes and have to pay for lodging) and their jobs for more than 3 days because of the disaster and $500 to members who lose their jobs for three days or more but who have immediate housing OR lose immediate housing at their primary residence (were not able to stay overnight in their homes and had to pay for lodging) but have their job, as a result of this emergency disaster.

Members who believe they qualify for the disaster relief should submit their completed form (linked below) and appropriate documentation to disasterrelief@bmwe.org
