The BMWED AT&SFF System Federation is pleased to announce that members on the Colorado and Wyoming Railway ratified a five-year collective bargaining agreement. The C&W Railway is owned by parent company EVRAZ, which rolls Rocky Mountain Rail.
The agreement includes improvements to the general wage packages, vacation, bereavement leave, personal leave, and holidays while maintaining status quo on Healthcare, Profit Sharing, and 401(K) that are specific to that agreement.
“The AT&SFF would like to thank the members of the Colorado & Wyoming Railway for their participation in the negotiations of the recently ratified five-year agreement C&W/BMWED agreement,” General Chairman Timothy Bunch said. “The members were heavily involved throughout the entire process including filling out surveys, face to face meetings with the negotiating team, and bird-dogging other crafts for their agreement nuances. The positive aspect of the members’ participation and the outcome from this is undeniable, as we achieved a 100% ratification.”
Brother Jake Costanza, Local Lodge 0204 and C&W employee, deserves a special shout out for being our eyes and ears on the property and the rank-and-file member of the negotiating team. Jake was part of the bargaining team and attended the negotiating session.
A special thank you to VP-At Large Jeff Fry and VP-West Region Galen Owen for their invaluable advice and support during these negotiations.
Lastly, the Federation and members would like to recognize Colorado and Wyoming Chief Operating Officer Dave Morrow and Evraz North Human Resource Director Risa Esterly, who, among the other improvements to the agreement, agreed to modify the Holiday Agreement on this property to include Veterans Day.
From General Chairman Bunch, “It was truly an honor to see the negotiation process work so well. From the Brothers on the property, the negotiating team, VP Galen Owen, VP Jeff Fry, Vice General Chairman Vern Van Ausdall, Assistant General Chairman Nick Oldham, and rank and file member Jake Costanza, we set some goals and obtained an agreement with needed improvements for these members. 100% ratification is outstanding. All because we worked together.”
Thanks as well to Chief Operating Officer Morrow and HR Director Esterly for the hospitality shown to us in these negotiations and the interest the C&W has in rewarding their employees for their dedication and hard work. It was a pleasure working with Mr. Morrow.
“I am honored and beyond grateful that these members entrust this Federation with their livelihood. Their trust will never be taken for granted,” Brother Bunch added.
